The cashier is responsible for greeting moviegoers, selling movie tickets, answering the telephone, fielding questions about showtimes and providing details about the films being shown. In addition, the cashier assists the manager by counting cash and performing basic record-keeping duties as directed. This includes keeping a log of all passes redeemed during the cashier’s shift. The cashier is also responsible for selling all food items to theatre moviegoers in a timely and courteous fashion. The cashier participates in food preparation, cleans and stocks the concession area, and assists in cleaning and maintaining the condiment area. When necessary, the cashier may be required to work as an usher or greeter.
Usher
The usher is responsible for aiding moviegoers, addressing any in-auditorium issues, verifying moviegoers are in the correct auditoriums between shows, helping to maintain the cleanliness of the theatre, kitchen and hallways, and assuring restrooms are clean and well stocked. The usher is also responsible for making sure every person entering the theatre has a ticket, directing moviegoers to the correct auditorium at the appropriate time, and ensuring that the condiment areas and soda machines are clean and well stocked. When necessary, the usher may be required to work as a cashier or greeter.
Staff Supervisor
The staff supervisor is the main point of contact for all floor staff, including training, coaching and motivating, change distribution, restocking inventory and prioritizing work based on need. The staff supervisor will serve as the primary asset for listening to and resolving any customer concerns that arise during a shift. The staff supervisor will serve as an asset to management in effecting protocol and upholding the values of Phoenix Theatres on a continual basis.
